The 4 Sundays of Advent: December 1, 8, 15 and 22
Sunday Worship at 9:30 followed by social hour. On the first Sunday of Advent, we’ll have a gathering after church to explore possible Advent practices to try on your own or with others.
Advent Bible Study - the book of Ruth
The 4 Sundays of Advent, 11:30-12:30 am - Read one chapter of the book of Ruth each week and come together with David and Grayston to practice group Lectio Divina to discover what this book is saying to us in our day.
Soc et Tuum
Throughout Advent - St. James wants to make sure no one in Keene is sockless this winter. Bring good, warm, adult sized socks to add to our sock tree. More info is HERE
More Giving Opportunities
St. James supports Feeding Tiny Tummies at holiday time. This year we Natalie Scalia is leading us in a warm pajama drive. Please bring new, warm kids pajamas to church to be given to kids who need them through Feeding Tiny Tummies. We’ll be planning a new fundraiser for Feeding Tiny Tummies later this winter.
The Longest Night, Monday, December 16
5:30pm - St. James is hosting the annual candlelight memorial service for those who died in the past year after experiencing homelessness. Sponsored by the Keene Homelessness Coalition with the help of Monadnock Interfaith Clergy. Come honor and remember those who tend to be forgotten.
Blue Christmas, Thursday, December 19
7 pm - A candlelight service for those who are not feeling so jolly this year. More info is HERE
Christmas Eve, Dec 24
5 PM - A worship celebration with carols, the choir, the bell choir and brass!
Christmas Morning, Dec 25
10am - This is a small, quiet and simplified service for those who’d like to welcome Christmas morning in worship with others.
1st Sunday of Christmas - Dec 29
9:30 am - Ring in the new calendar year with a festive Christmas Lessons and Carols service
2nd Sunday of Christmas - January 5
Christmas Sweater Sunday with New Year Potluck Brunch
9:30 am - A second Sunday falls within the 12 days of Christmas this year! The celebration of Christmas continues during our Sunday morning Eucharist. Let’s plan on a New Year potluck brunch together following the service. Wear your Christmas sweater, tie, jewelry, hat - whatever you have - before it gets stored away for next year.
